The microphone icon on some lyrics in the Spotify app indicates that the lyrics feature “karaoke mode.” This mode allows you to sing along to the music as the lyrics are highlighted in time with the song. When you see the microphone icon, you can tap on it to enable karaoke mode.
While karaoke mode is active, you can use your device’s microphone to sing along with the music. The app will listen to your voice and try to match the pitch and timing to the lyrics on the screen. You can adjust the volume of the music and your voice using the slider at the bottom of the screen.
To disable karaoke mode, tap on the microphone icon again or tap on the “X” in the upper right corner of the lyrics screen. Please note that karaoke mode may not be available for all songs or devices.
